Software Engineer (C/C++) – ADAS – Team – Infrastructure Diagnostic Software

Role: Software Engineer 
Location: Markham, ON

Role Summary

The successful candidate will be part of a team contributing to the ideation and development of ADAS control modules. You will be working with data from multiple controllers and sensors including LiDARs, radars, cameras, coming up with solutions for vehicles today and tomorrow. You will be responsible to develop, implement, and test software that are core to Automated Driving systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and develop software solutions as part of a larger team; leading and participating in feature development, maintenance ofexisting features, and bug fixes
• Collaborate with Controls Engineers in architecting requirements, and supporting design reviews to create C, and/or C++ code
• Lead and participate in code and low-level test case reviews
• Conduct software verification including unit testing, simulation, and in-vehicle testing as needed
• Provide clear and complete documentation per the software development process
• Collaborate with team members through Scrum/Agile process
• Take ownership of each project, make design and implementation decisions proactively and autonomously
• Be an integral team player of a new and energetic team

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experiences:
• 3+ years designing and developing in C and/or C++
• Experience in object-oriented software development, algorithms, and data structures
• Development knowledge in another language, such as Python, Matlab
• Experience working with embedded microprocessors, cross compilers, low level memory calculations
• Experience working with large code bases, developing entirely new code, and maintaining existing code
• Ability to investigate issues based on limited information. Demonstrated high level of ability to resolve complex problems
• Experience providing technical guidance to team members is a plus
• Creative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibility to meet delivery commitment
• A passionate software professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experiences:
• Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems, such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network, and Powertrain
• Exposure to Automotive Platforms, such as Ethernet/CAN/LIN, AUTOSAR
• Exposure to sensors, cameras, radars, LiDARs
• Experience with automotive embedded controls or equivalent
• Experience with OBDII, ISO26262 functional safety control systems
• Knowledge of vehicle architectures, serial data communication, and hardware/software interfaces
• Experience with SAFe methodologies
• Interest in Data Analytics, Tools and Databases, such as Machine Learning, HUE, Jupyter, PowerBI, Hadoop/SQL/noSQL

Education and Training

• Bachelor Degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent program
