We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Science/Engineering background (University or College) with 1 to 2 years experience with a similar role
  • Accounting/Finance Knowledge is an asset
  • SAP experience an asset

 

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Cost Controller is responsible for submitting, organizing and tracking purchase orders (POs), invoices and work orders (WOs) for the Technical Services Department.

These activities help to track the department third party spending for financial month end and to ensure we adhere to the purchase-to-pay process.

Job includes resolution of issues involving these POs, invoices and WOs.

The Cost Controller is also involved with providing feedback for continuous process improvements and implementation as needed to streamline the purchase-to-pay process within the department.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Perform and prioritize day-to-day operation for purchase order submission for vendor services, ensuring information accuracy and completeness
  • Review and approve invoices for vendor services
  • Coordinate with Technical Service Teams for cost recovery in work order process
  • Maintain/Update documentation tracking files in sharepoint for all submissions (purchase orders,work orders, invoice status)
  • Communicate with various Suppliers/Vendors and coordinate with the team to resolve outstanding issues (ie. invoice payments or purchase order issuance)
  • Provide support for financial month-end activities
  • Support yearly budget exercise
  • Collaborate with maintenance team to effectively implement and streamline the purchase-to-pay process within the department

Qualifications:

  • Science/Engineering background (University or College) with 1 to 2 years experience with a similar role
  • Accounting/Finance Knowledge is an asset
  • Able and willing to learn new skill sets and programs, and adapt to continuous process improvements
  • Good logical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proactive and willing to take the initiative for continuous team and self improvements
  • Excellent time management skills to coordinate various tasks and meet multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment, with changing demands and priorities
  • Able to work and coordinate with various teams within the department, as well as independently
  • Advanced knowledge with Microsoft office tools (ie. Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Good written and communication skills
  • SAP Knowledge is an asset
  • Sharepoint Knowledge is an asset
