We are seeking an IVVQ Engineer, working from Burnaby, British Columbia.
The Integration, Verification & Validation (IVVQ) will be working on Rail Signalling Software projects, and will be responsible for participating in planning and the efficient IVV execution a variety of systems. He/she assures that the appropriate means and practices are applied to guarantee the adherence to defined requirements and quality standards with minimal wasted effort or inefficiencies. In addition, the IVVQ Engineer is responsible for contributing to the test plan and reports, assuring that the scope of the IVV activities fully covers all aspects of the system under test, while taking all previous verification activities on comparable systems into account to optimize the test effort.

Key Responsibilities:
Contributes to the estimation, planning and execution of IVV activities
Understands and can execute to the test strategy, plans and practices
Contributes to the creation of test plans and reports
Works to committed testing durations and identifies testing and project risks
Identifies and tracks defects for the assigned testing scope
Participate in Scrum Teams and upholds Agile values and principles.
Other duties as assigned by the employee’s manager

Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or technology experience or Master’s degree in field with 0-2+ years’ experience
Previous knowledge of Unix /Linux/ Android systems
Knowledge of Ethernet networks
Use of common defect management and tools (JIRA, ClearQuest)
Use of common requirements management and tools (JAMA)
Experience with Agile and common tools (JIRA, VersionOne)
Experience with MS products such as Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in an engineering integration, verification or validation team
Experience in the Rail industry; Rail Signalling experience software preferred but not necessary
Understanding of software development methods and electrical/mechanical design
User Interfaces, Networking, and/or communication systems test experience
Software and/or Hardware development design experience
Experience in Test Automation
