Q&A from manager:

PROJECTS/ PRODUCTS you will work on:
The developer will be working on the UR (Universal Relay) platform: https://www.gegridsolutions.com/multilin/catalog/urfamily.htm
The UR is a platform that can be configured (by software) as one of 18 products (the tab “Product Listing” in the link above lists all the products). It is used as a protection and control relay in the power systems industry to protect different power components, like motors, generators, feeders, etc.. Our main customers are utility companies. The UR has a long history and a very large code base, it is being actively developed and new features are introduced in every new firmware release.
The work will include fixing bugs, performing investigations of reports from our customer support team, and developing new features. The new developer will work as part of a team of several other FW developers, progressing from fixing bugs to developing new features.

IDEAL – some exposure to the power systems industry, but this is not a requirement, it’s a “nice to have”, not a “must have”. The UR relay is a hard-real time embedded system, so knowledge of real-time systems is mandatory. Good C++ knowledge is also a must.
