Summary of the opportunity

Responsible for electrical engineering project activities within the Engineering Services Department. This role consists of a range from individual responsibility for overall project deliverables on existing renovation/upgrade projects through to support roles on major new development projects.


Job Responsibilities:

Liase with technical professionals and end-use customers to support the development of project scope requirements that satisfy the business need

Prepare cost estimates, feasibility studies and execution schedules for projects and/or portions thereof assigned

Prepare and co-ordinate the development of detailed electrical drawings and specifications for assigned projects using AutoCAD and company Standards

Creation of Single Line Diagrams, protection drawings, equipment lists, cable and panel schedules

Electrical control system design including control panel layouts, component selection, and schematics

Co-ordinate the activities of outside consultants and contractors in the execution of design and construction work, ensuring technical and regulatory compliance standards, cost and schedule parameters are maintained and reported

Ensure that all necessary permits as required by the current codes are obtained and that any necessary inspections are scheduled

Ensure that work is performed in full compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and according to established Safety, Health and Environmental policies for Construction Sites

Support the development and execution of F.A.T., commissioning and validation requirements and associated documentation for work assigned

Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements

Job Requirements:

Education: A post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering/Technologist program

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of industrial power distribution systems, instrumentation, controls, communications, and automation

Hands-on experience in design utilizing Autocad is

Hands on experience in the use of Microsoft Office computer tools

Strong organizational and time management skills

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Working knowledge of GMP guidelines is preferred

Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario or with another province in Canada is preferred

Experience: Five years of experience in electrical design
